Memorials

When a loved one passes, you have enough to do and difficult decisions to make. Deciding where memorials should be directed doesn’t need to be a rushed decision. You may want time to think about how to best honor your loved one and support the organizations that they cared about the most. The Hastings Community Foundation can be a trusted, valuable partner during these times.

Memorials can be easily established with the HCF and provide several benefits, including:

  • There is no timeline by which memorial funds have to be distributed. You’ll appreciate being able to take the time you need to consider how to best honor the memory of your loved one.

  • Gifts made to the memorial are tax delectable.

  • HCF acknowledges the gifts on behalf of the family.

  • Donation information and reports are shared with the family so you always know who made a gift to the memorial.

  • You may use the memorial to fund causes that were important to your loved one.

Once you’re ready to decide where to allocate memorial dollars, we’re work with you to find the right organizations. This could be qualified non-profit organizations or existing funds and projects with the community foundation. It’s about what is best for you and the legacy of your loved one.
