Adams county veterans monument
honors local heroes
The Adams County Veterans Monument, located at the entrance of Hastings’ Parkview Cemetery, was created to honor all veterans that have served in Federal active duty, who are from or who have resided in Adams County, Nebraska with an appropriate monument that will preserve their names for posterity.
The Vision for the Veterans Monument
This initiative was created to erect a monument that reflects the sacrifice that all veterans have made in behalf of the citizens of Adams County and their country. The original committee’s mission was to make this project affordable to everyone so that no one is left behind and to provide additional funding for perpetual care of this monument. This project was completed and presented to the community on Veteran’s Day, November 11, in 2007.
To Honor a Local Hero
The name of any service member who is from, or has lived, in Adams County, Nebraska can be included on the monument. This includes those who have served or are currently serving Federal Active Duty in any of the Armed Services. The ten individual stones will represent various periods of active duty service.
The cost to add a name is $100. Names may be submitted anytime. Engraving is done periodically as needed. We are unable to guarantee a specific date of when a name will be added.
Continuous Support
Your generous support enables us to continue the mission of honoring and remembering all those who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States from Adams County. Additional towers will be added as time passes. Upkeep and promotion of the monument along with building the endowment will keep this a permanent living legacy to the men and women who have served.
